Turturem Outdoor Table

Turturem Outdoor Table

Turturem Outdoor Table is an innovative outdoor furniture design that exemplifies sustainable manufacturing principles and intelligent structural engineering. Named after the Latin word for turtle, this distinctive table draws inspiration from the interdependent relationship between a turtle's shell and legs, manifesting this concept through its unique construction methodology. The design features a revolutionary fastener-free assembly system where identical molded legs serve dual purposes as both vertical supports and horizontal structural elements. Each leg component interlocks with adjacent pieces to create a self-supporting frame, while a bent mesh top, crafted from anodized aluminum, securely snaps around the frame to unify the entire structure. This ingenious design, which won the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2016, accommodates natural material expansion and contraction through its flexible interlocking connections, making it particularly suitable for outdoor environments. The table's dimensions measure 42 inches by 42 inches with a height of 14 inches, and its construction utilizes environmentally conscious materials, including recycled plastic for the legs and 100% recyclable aluminum for the top. The design's emphasis on minimal unique parts not only streamlines the manufacturing process but also enhances user experience through simplified assembly. Created by designer David Rooth, the Turturem Outdoor Table represents a harmonious blend of functional innovation, environmental responsibility, and aesthetic refinement, demonstrating how thoughtful design can address both practical needs and sustainability concerns in contemporary outdoor furniture.
