Turkish Coffee Cup Table Ware is an innovative fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing techniques, representing a significant evolution in ceramic tableware design. This sophisticated interpretation of the traditional Turkish coffee cup emerged from extensive research exploring the transition from traditional potter's wheel craftsmanship to contemporary CNC manufacturing processes. The design, created by ceramic artist Gungor Guner, masterfully incorporates elements from Turkish cultural history, featuring a geometric handle inspired by the Seljuk period and cloud motifs reminiscent of Ottoman aesthetics, all unified within a cylindrical form that bridges these historical periods. The set consists of a meticulously proportioned cup measuring 13cm in total height with a 6.5cm diameter, accompanied by a complementary plate of 12.5cm diameter and 2cm height. Crafted from fine porcelain clay using a hybrid production approach, the design successfully combines the organic warmth characteristic of wheel-thrown pottery with the precise consistency achieved through CNC-aided manufacturing. This innovative production methodology, which earned recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, demonstrates a remarkable achievement in mass-production capabilities while maintaining the aesthetic integrity and cultural significance of traditional Turkish coffee service.
