Tsai Residence Residence

Tsai Residence Residence

Tsai Residence Residence is an innovative interior design project completed in 2014, showcasing a minimalist approach to temporary living spaces in urban environments. Located in central Taipei City, this 115-square-meter apartment interior was specifically designed to address the contemporary challenges faced by young urban professionals in major cities where property ownership is increasingly difficult to achieve. The project, conceived and executed by architect Chun-Tai Tsai, demonstrates exceptional adaptability and resourcefulness in rental property design, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design's distinguishing feature is its reversible nature, incorporating movable storage solutions and an all-white color scheme that emphasizes spatial purity while maintaining practical functionality. The interior architecture thoughtfully exposes structural elements such as ductwork and electrical cables, integrating them into the overall aesthetic through consistent white finishing. The layout encompasses a living and dining area with a projector screen, a study space, storage areas, and additional rooms, all connected by a central corridor. The design successfully balances minimalist aesthetics with practical living requirements, featuring strategic use of pastel accents and wooden elements to add warmth to the predominantly white interior. The project exemplifies innovative solutions to urban housing constraints while maintaining high design standards and environmental consciousness, particularly in the context of temporary living arrangements.
