Trimensional Space Cinema
Trimensional Space Cinema is an innovative architectural and interior design concept that reimagines the traditional cinema experience by deliberately blurring the boundaries between two-dimensional and three-dimensional spatial perceptions. This groundbreaking design, created by CM Jao and Ken Cheung, represents a sophisticated interpretation of contemporary cinema architecture that draws inspiration from Japanese animation culture's distinction between 2D and 3D worlds. The space employs a complex interplay of irregular pyramids and rectangular prisms, enhanced by strategic lighting and shadow techniques, to create compelling visual distortions that challenge spatial perception. The design begins with an impressive façade featuring white and light grey elements complemented by full-length curtain walls, setting the stage for the transformative experience within. The interior architecture incorporates a thoughtfully curated progression of spaces, including a lobby and book café adorned with irregular triangular frames and sophisticated material combinations of wood laminate and black mirror stainless steel. The corridor design employs an intricate arrangement of black wooden strips, mirrored surfaces, and aluminum elements, creating an illusion of infinite space. The cinema houses themselves are distinguished by their geometric precision, with the Typical House featuring equilateral triangular patterns and the VIP House drawing inspiration from tangram configurations. This innovative project, which was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, demonstrates exceptional achievement in spatial design, successfully creating an immersive environment that serves as a bridge between reality and the fictional worlds of cinema.
