Designed by German-born designer Max Hauser, this versatile creation emerged from extensive research into three-dimensional structures derived from single sheets of material. The design features a sophisticated combination of triangular surfaces and a unique folding sequence, resulting in a sculptural form that reveals distinct compositions from various viewing angles. Crafted from 3mm brushed aluminum sheets, the piece undergoes a precise manufacturing process utilizing 6-axis robotic fabrication technology for folding and CNC machining for edge preparation. The design's dimensions of 360mm x 360mm x 430mm allow it to function effectively as a table, stool, plinth, or trestle, demonstrating remarkable adaptability through various configurations. Available in silver, black, and champagne anodized finishes, the surface treatment ensures durability while maintaining material authenticity. The development process, spanning from February 2013 to March 2014 in London, involved extensive prototyping through 1:10 scale paper models and full-scale iterations to perfect both aesthetic and structural elements. This innovative approach to furniture design earned recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its contribution to advancing manufacturing techniques and furniture design possibilities.
