Triangle Table is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the convergence of digital design methodology and organic growth patterns in contemporary furniture creation. This distinctive piece features an irregular desktop crafted from Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), supported by intricate, branch-like steel legs that mirror natural growth formations. The design philosophy behind the Triangle Table draws inspiration from biological growth patterns, particularly tree structures, utilizing advanced digital design algorithms to generate unique, mathematically-derived forms. Measuring 1560mm x 1110mm x 740mm, the table's modular nature allows for various configurations, making it particularly suitable for open offices and coffee shops where spatial rhythm and dynamic arrangements are desired. The curved desktop edges facilitate interpersonal communication while maintaining functional workspace requirements. The design process involved sophisticated computer algorithms working in conjunction with traditional furniture design principles, allowing for controlled randomness in form generation while maintaining structural integrity. This innovative approach to furniture design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a significant advancement in the integration of digital technology with functional furniture design. The table's ability to be arranged in different patterns according to mathematical logic adds an interactive element to the user experience, while its construction method allows for customizable color options through a bolt-connected surface and support structure system. The project, developed between November 2019 and August 2020, addresses contemporary social perspectives on traditional table design while overcoming technical challenges in modular implementation and environmental adaptability.
