Trempel Cloth Hanger is an innovative sustainable furniture design that exemplifies eco-conscious product development through its ingenious use of recycled materials and minimalist construction methodology. Created by designers Viktor Puzur and Mihail Puzur, this environmentally responsible clothing storage solution transforms discarded cardboard tubes into functional wardrobe accessories, demonstrating remarkable efficiency in material repurposing. The design's distinctive feature lies in its precise geometric construction, achieved through two parallel cuts made at a 170-degree angle across the sidewall of a circular cardboard tube with a 115mm diameter and 6mm wall thickness, connected with an aluminum pop-rivet and standard hook. Measuring 470 x 210 x 28 millimeters, the hanger undergoes a waterproof aqueous varnish treatment to ensure durability and moisture resistance. This design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design category, represents a significant advancement in sustainable furniture design by combining practical functionality with environmental responsibility. The project, developed between 2013 and 2014 in Kharkov and exhibited at the Salone del Mobile Milano in 2015, embodies core principles of ecological design including waste reduction, material efficiency, and the promotion of recycling practices.
