Tree Tattoo Shop

Tree Tattoo Shop

Tree Tattoo Shop is an innovative interior design project that revolutionizes the traditional tattoo parlor concept through its sophisticated integration of natural elements and architectural ingenuity. Designed by Wang Yu Han in Taipei during 2018, this Bronze A' Design Award-winning space masterfully employs the symbolism of trees to represent the permanence of tattoo art, creating a profound connection between nature and body modification culture. The establishment, spanning approximately 9681mm in width, 5130mm in depth, and 3600mm in height, features a distinctive central light well that creates dynamic interplays of light and shadow, mimicking the dappled sunlight filtering through a forest canopy. The design's most striking feature is its sophisticated illumination system, incorporating both natural daylighting through a rounded glass roof and strategically placed fluorescent fixtures that create an immersive environment. The interior architecture employs a cohesive color scheme throughout, with silhouetted tree motifs adorning the walls and ceiling, creating a seamless visual narrative that guides visitors through the space. The thoughtful layout addresses practical considerations for tattoo artists by providing uniform, shadow-free lighting conditions through a polygonal roof design, while simultaneously maintaining an atmospheric quality that enhances the client experience. This innovative approach to tattoo parlor design earned recognition at the prestigious A' Design Award competition in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its exceptional fusion of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
