Travel Is Life Residential House

Travel is Life Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project completed in Taipei, Taiwan, that masterfully transforms an 85-square-meter space into a sophisticated, hotel-inspired living environment. Designed by Sheng-Hao Sun in 2016, this distinctive residential space seamlessly integrates the concept of travel and luxury hospitality into daily living, featuring a thoughtfully conceived T-shaped floor plan reminiscent of a hotel lobby. The design's most notable architectural elements include an extended white ceiling that creates an illusion of expanded space while cleverly concealing structural beams, and an intricate interplay of black iron and mirror stainless steel elements that define different functional zones. The interior showcases premium materials including marble, brown mirror, and white leather, with particular attention paid to craftsmanship as evidenced in the meticulously welded stainless steel screens. A sophisticated U-shaped dark metallic display shelf mounted on a tawny mirrored wall serves as a focal point in the lobby area, while the lounge space features a prominent wine shelf displaying international wines and crystal glasses, creating an atmosphere of global sophistication. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and material selection. The project successfully addresses the unique requirements of its international owner, incorporating elements that reflect both Eastern and Western design sensibilities while maintaining a serene, elegant atmosphere throughout the space.
