Trapeze Lamp

Trapeze Lamp

Trapeze Lamp is an innovative architectural lighting fixture that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of ancient Bulgarian architectural elements with contemporary industrial design aesthetics. Created by designers Damir Aitov and Timur Zakirov, this distinctive luminaire features a striking geometric form comprising a four-sided top section mounted on an octagonal base, effectively inverting traditional architectural proportions. The lamp's construction employs concrete as its primary material, with meticulous attention paid to structural proportions and visual balance. Its dimensions measure 120mm in width and depth, with a total height of 384mm and a ceiling height of 280mm, weighing 1800 grams. The fixture's interior surface is painted yellow to counterbalance the inherent coldness of concrete, creating a warm, ambient illumination. The design incorporates both functional and aesthetic elements, including a textile-braided cord and specialized metal wire support system, allowing for versatile installation options either as standalone pieces or in grouped arrangements of 3-5 units for maximum visual impact. The lamp, which received the Silver A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, represents a significant achievement in translating classical architectural techniques into contemporary lighting design, particularly suitable for dining rooms and reception areas where focused illumination is desired.
