Transition Residential Interior Design
Transition Residential Interior Design is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of artistic elements with functional living spaces, created by designers I-Chen Ko and Lin-Jun-Xian. This sophisticated design approach employs spatial aesthetics as a secondary layer of perception while positioning the residents and artistic works as primary visual focal points, demonstrating a deep understanding of the relationship between human habitation and artistic expression. The 185-square-meter space, nestled in Guan Mountain, incorporates a thoughtful transition from public to private areas through a carefully orchestrated progression of materials and atmospheric elements. The design philosophy draws inspiration from Chinese Buddhist concepts of impermanence and wisdom, manifested through the strategic use of light, color gradients, and premium materials including Montmartre-grey antique marble, black forest marble, and bronze-titanium accents. The project's distinctive features include an innovative promenade design that mirrors the natural mountain environment, creating a transitional experience as one moves deeper into the space. The interior showcases exceptional material integration, featuring light-colored texture floor tiles in public areas, complemented by sophisticated marble wall treatments and bronze-gold showcases that enable personal art collection display. This project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, demonstrates particular excellence in its approach to art collection integration, utilizing varying wall carving widths, delicate moldings, and strategic lighting to create an atmosphere that balances elegance with functionality. The design successfully addresses the unique requirements of art collectors while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic throughout the space, effectively transforming a residential interior into a sophisticated gallery-like environment that serves both as a peaceful retreat and a showcase for artistic expression.
