Transition Luminos View Residential Space / Multi Level

Transition Luminos View Residential Space / Multi Level is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural light, spatial functionality, and family-oriented living spaces. Located in downtown Taipei, this 140-square-meter apartment features a sophisticated mezzanine structure that effectively separates public and private spaces while maintaining visual connectivity through thoughtfully designed architectural elements. The design's centerpiece is an architecturally significant staircase that serves as a vertical axis, ingeniously capturing and distributing sunlight through irregularly carved rectangular openings, creating dynamic light patterns throughout the day. A wooden bookshelf wall seamlessly connects the upper and lower levels, serving both functional and aesthetic purposes while facilitating a smooth transition between public and private spaces. The project, completed in 2014, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning with multiple circular routes that enhance family interaction and movement flow. The design philosophy emphasizes a return to essential living through the strategic use of natural materials, abundant daylight, and mindful space allocation. The project's success in achieving its objectives of creating a harmonious living environment while maintaining aesthetic sophistication was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its contribution to innovative residential design solutions that enhance quality of life through thoughtful architectural interventions.
