Tranquil Mind Brings Success Residential House

Tranquil Mind Brings Success Residential House is an award-winning residential interior design project located in Hsinchu County, Taiwan, that exemplifies minimalist design principles and thoughtful spatial planning within a 180-square-meter space. The design, created by Wen-Hsiang Chao, emphasizes reduction design philosophy while maintaining essential living functionalities, featuring an axial symmetric arrangement that ensures clear circulation paths throughout the residence. The interior space is characterized by its deliberate simplicity, incorporating warm pale wooden textures juxtaposed with grey architectural concrete, creating a sophisticated balance between aesthetics and functionality. The design's distinctive features include a raw wood dining table seamlessly integrated with the kitchen counter, demonstrating layered spatial composition, while the dark-colored ceiling enhances the overall tranquil atmosphere. Notable architectural elements include storage walls with varied height differences that guide the spatial axis, and extensive use of architectural concrete walls specifically designed to showcase the owner's art collection. The public spaces are thoughtfully arranged to be visible immediately upon entering the foyer, while a glass-partitioned study area maintains visual transparency while providing acoustic isolation. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully addresses the client's unique requirement for a child-friendly environment where freedom of movement is prioritized, while simultaneously achieving a sophisticated aesthetic through the careful integration of multiple materials and simplified lighting solutions.
