Tranquil Harmony Residence

Tranquil Harmony Residence

Tranquil Harmony Residence is an award-winning interior design project completed in December 2016 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, encompassing 397 square meters of living space that masterfully blends classical tranquility with modern philosophical elements. Designed by Wen-Ching Wu and Pei-Chun Peng, this residential project exemplifies a sophisticated approach to contemporary living through its thoughtful integration of space, light, and aesthetic elements. The design philosophy centers on the concept of harmony, manifesting through a carefully curated color palette dominated by subtle variations of gray and strategic light-and-dark contrasts. The residence features extensive storage solutions that maintain the visual serenity of the space while preventing cluttered areas from disrupting the overall aesthetic coherence. Notable design elements include sliding doors that enhance spatial flow and maintain clear sight lines, complemented by decorative furniture pieces such as realistic wall paintings, white-potter stools, and a distinctive tree-style tea table. The interior's composition demonstrates remarkable restraint in its furniture placement, where each piece serves both functional and aesthetic purposes, contributing to the space's distinctive character without overwhelming it. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases an innovative approach to residential design through its meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful integration of storage solutions. The design successfully creates a harmonious living environment that balances practical functionality with aesthetic refinement, embodying the intersection of classical tranquility and modern minimalism while maintaining a strong focus on livability and spatial efficiency.
