Tranquil Dwelling Villa

Tranquil Dwelling Villa

Tranquil Dwelling Villa is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates oriental artistic concepts with contemporary living spaces, distinguished by its innovative approach to spatial organization and cultural symbolism. Located in Kuichong, Shenzhen, China, this 500-square-meter villa spans five meticulously planned floors, embodying the philosophical essence of living simply while maintaining sophisticated functionality. The design, conceived by Wen Su and Zhongyong Wu, draws profound inspiration from traditional Chinese elements - bamboo, orchid, plum blossom, and landscape paintings - translating these cultural motifs into modern architectural language. The interior's defining feature is its innovative screen system, derived from abstracted bamboo forms, which creates a compelling visual axis throughout the space. The design employs a sophisticated vertical arrangement, with interconnected living and dining areas defined by subtle level changes, creating an atmosphere of spatial fluidity characteristic of oriental design principles. The project's material palette predominantly features wood finishes and furniture, enhancing the space's Zen-like ambiance while addressing complex programmatic requirements including a golf area, recreation spaces, expansive cloakroom, and double-height living areas. The design's response to contemporary urban challenges is particularly noteworthy, offering a tranquil refuge from city life while maintaining practical functionality. This harmonious integration of traditional elements with modern design sensibilities earned the project a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its exceptional contribution to residential interior design innovation.
