Touchpoint

Touchpoint is any moment when a person interacts with a service, such as using a website, speaking to staff, or receiving a message. In service design, a touchpoint can be physical, digital, or even environmental, like a sign or a waiting area. Designers map out touchpoints to see the full journey people take when using a service. Each touchpoint can be measured and improved, for example, by timing how long a person waits or checking if instructions are clear. Designers use feedback from these moments to make the service feel smoother and more connected. Touchpoints can be grouped into clusters to spot patterns, which helps in making better decisions for the whole service.
