Top Player Residence
Top Player Residence is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2020, showcasing a contemporary interpretation of luxury living spaces tailored for Generation Z inhabitants in Shenzhen, China. Designed by Zhi Duan and Shi Rong Liang, this 314-square-meter residence challenges conventional living patterns through its distinctive blend of artistic expression and urban sophistication. The design philosophy centers on creating a dynamic, playful atmosphere while maintaining refined elegance, achieved through the thoughtful integration of curved architectural elements that soften the spatial geometry and create engaging visual contrasts. The interior scheme employs premium natural materials, including cotton, linen, and wool textiles, carefully selected for their tactile qualities and environmental sustainability. Notable features include a sophisticated entrance area featuring a lucite background wall with grille details, creating an art gallery-like ambiance that effectively separates meeting and resting zones. The living spaces demonstrate a highly personalized approach to contemporary luxury, incorporating custom cabinetry, carefully curated artwork, and innovative furniture arrangements that break traditional aesthetic conventions. The project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in spatial planning through its three-sided lighting configuration and strategic placement of art collections that facilitate dynamic dialogue between artwork and furnishings. The designers' commitment to sustainability is evident in their material selection and emphasis on longevity, while storage solutions are intelligently integrated to maximize spatial efficiency. This residence represents a significant departure from traditional luxury housing concepts, offering a fresh perspective that caters to urban sophisticates while maintaining practical functionality and aesthetic innovation.
