Times Paradise Presentation and Sales is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary design aesthetics. Located in Suzhou, China, this 888-square-meter presentation center draws profound inspiration from the city's rich water culture and historical heritage, particularly evident in its sophisticated architectural and decorative elements. The design, conceived by David Chang and his team at David Chang Design Associates International, masterfully integrates local cultural motifs through flowing lines, crystal chandeliers, and pooled ceiling coffers that echo the region's waterways. The space features extensive use of grey wood grain marble as a primary material, complemented by water wave patterned glass and faux silk wall coverings that pay homage to Suzhou's silk-making tradition. The project's layout thoughtfully incorporates elements from Chinese garden architecture, including the symbolic plum blossom shape from Hui style architecture, rendered through intricate grille work and strategic mirror placement. Completed in January 2014, the design successfully addresses the challenge of emphasizing the building's large windows while creating a sophisticated bar lounge area that maximizes views of the surrounding landscape. The project garnered recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and cultural integration.
