Times Mansion Residential Exhibition Area
Times Mansion Residential Exhibition Area is an innovative landscape architectural project that exemplifies harmonious integration between urban development and ecological preservation. Located in Nanjing, China, this 8,400-square-meter development, with 6,000 square meters dedicated to landscape design, represents a groundbreaking approach to residential exhibition space design through its thoughtful preservation of existing natural elements. The project's distinguishing feature lies in its innovative structural design that carefully preserves and showcases indigenous goldenrain trees and camphor trees, incorporating them as focal points within a sophisticated water feature design. The architectural solution employs independent foundations and steel frame structures specifically engineered to protect the root systems of the existing trees, while creating an elevated waterscape adorned with carefully selected stones and mirrored black titanium stainless steel plates. This symbiotic approach to design demonstrates exceptional environmental sensitivity and technical innovation, earning it a Gold A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category. The project, completed in April 2021, introduces the concept of a forest theater within an urban concrete setting, where the careful consideration of elevation and structural systems allows for the creation of tree holes embraced by raised waterscapes. The design philosophy emphasizes humble intervention and site-specific adaptation, resulting in a space that not only preserves but celebrates the existing ecological assets while providing a sophisticated exhibition environment. The project's success lies in its ability to challenge conventional site development approaches by prioritizing environmental preservation while delivering functional excellence through innovative technical solutions and aesthetic refinement.
