Time Of Nature Interior Design

Time of Nature Interior Design is an exemplary residential architectural renovation project that masterfully transforms a four-story bungalow in Shanghai into a harmonious living space that bridges traditional Shanghai aesthetics with contemporary functionality. Designed by Rui Tian and completed in 2022, this interior design project stands out for its thoughtful integration of natural elements and historical preservation, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design's distinctive approach manifests through a highly personalized floor plan, where each level serves a specific purpose: from dining and reception areas to meditation spaces, leisure zones, and peaceful sleeping quarters. The project's architectural integrity is maintained through careful preservation of original elements, including the pitched roof, which was renovated using reclaimed wood to enhance the building's historical character. Notable design features include curved elements at wall corners and stair handrails that create a gentle, flowing atmosphere, while large steel windows on both northern and southern exposures maximize natural light penetration. The master suite demonstrates particular innovation through its implementation of rotating doors that modulate privacy levels and a sophisticated spatial arrangement incorporating a bathtub as a transitional element between sleeping and bathing areas. The interior's material palette predominantly features old wood and antique furniture, creating an atmosphere that resonates with natural textures and historical significance while incorporating contemporary comfort and functionality. This project exemplifies excellence in residential interior design through its successful balance of preservation and innovation, earning recognition for its contribution to contemporary interior architecture.
