The Z Shaped Creation Residential Building

The Z Shaped Creation Residential Building

The Z Shaped Creation Residential Building is an innovative bioclimatic residential structure located in Fasoula, Cyprus, distinguished by its distinctive Z-shaped morphology that serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. Completed in 2020, this 230-square-meter residence spans three levels, incorporating a basement and two stories above ground, exemplifying a harmonious blend of modern minimalist design principles and environmental consciousness. The architectural composition is characterized by its white geometric form, where living spaces are thoughtfully integrated into the cavities of the Z-shaped structure, creating a sophisticated interplay between form and function. The building's design demonstrates exceptional environmental consideration through its passive sun protection system and natural ventilation strategies, while the material palette combines exposed concrete, extensive wooden surfaces, and a neutral white color scheme to achieve a contemporary aesthetic. The basement level, constructed with stone masonry, establishes a meaningful connection between the building and its sloped site while providing parking facilities. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, represents a significant achievement in sustainable residential architecture, successfully integrating bioclimatic methodologies with operational efficiency. The design's emphasis on environmental performance is evident in its high-performance active systems and careful consideration of natural lighting, resulting in substantial energy savings and enhanced thermal comfort for its occupants. The project's development, spanning from 2017 to 2020, demonstrates a meticulous approach to combining aesthetic appeal with environmental responsibility, creating a residential space that exemplifies the potential of sustainable architecture in contemporary housing design.
