The Wisdom Everywhere Public Space is an innovative architectural interior design project completed in 2016 in Taiwan, distinguished by its harmonious blend of contemporary aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship. Located at the intersection of new and old urban districts in Taichung City, this sophisticated public space demonstrates exceptional spatial design through its thoughtful integration of materials and artistic elements. The entrance features an understated corner doorway leading to a serene lobby characterized by travertine noce walls and white ceiling, creating a calm and reserved atmosphere through intersecting configurations. The space's unique identity is established through meticulous attention to detail, particularly evident in the guests' room behind the lobby, where traditional hand-making skills are showcased through delicate terrazzo flooring inlaid with copper lines. The design incorporates natural materials including Japanese cypress, which serves both functional and aesthetic purposes in the lobby's mailbox and shelter areas, contributing to a multi-sensory experience through its natural fragrance, tactile qualities, and sophisticated visual presence. The project, designed by Yi-Chung Chen and Ya Li Lu, received recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in combining modern functionality with traditional craftsmanship. The space is particularly noteworthy for its architectural elements such as carefully designed grilles, thoughtful intersections between floors and walls, and the artistic implementation of arc designs throughout, creating a cohesive visual language that successfully integrates specific items, materials, and spatial recognition patterns.
