The View Residence
The View Residence is an award-winning architectural masterpiece that exemplifies contemporary residential design excellence, completed in June 2022 in Taiwan. This sophisticated 231.4-square-meter duplex residence, designed by Ya-Ling Huang, seamlessly integrates hotel-style luxury with practical family living across six stories. The design's distinctive features include a thoughtfully planned second-floor living area with elevated ceilings, creating a dramatic double-height space that maximizes natural illumination through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. The interior aesthetic is characterized by its refined material palette, incorporating smooth marble surfaces, precision-cut gray mirrors, and natural stone patterns in neutral tones, all working harmoniously to create a magnificent atmosphere. The residence showcases innovative spatial solutions, particularly evident in the designer's approach to managing structural challenges by transforming irregular beam spaces into functional storage areas. The public areas exude elegance through the sophisticated use of stone, iron elements, and reflective surfaces, while private spaces maintain continuity with the overall design scheme while incorporating warmer materials such as leather, wooden trims, and wood grain tiles. A notable design element is the television wall, which serves as the visual centerpiece, featuring meticulously detailed marble work complemented by gray mirrors placed at precise 1-centimeter intervals. The project, which earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, demonstrates exceptional consideration for multi-generational living requirements, incorporating specialized zones for both family gathering and private retreat. The design successfully balances aesthetic refinement with practical functionality, featuring innovative storage solutions, carefully considered lighting design, and thoughtful material selection that creates a cohesive visual narrative throughout the space.
