The Variability In Cohesion Interior Design

The Variability in Cohesion Interior Design is an award-winning residential interior design project that masterfully blends neo-classical elements with contemporary aesthetics across a 285-square-meter living space. Located in an emerging urban redevelopment zone, this sophisticated design scheme demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its thoughtful integration of public and private areas. The interior architecture features a striking wide-open mezzanine finished in grey-brown tones, establishing a composed and introspective atmosphere that flows seamlessly into the main living areas. The public spaces, comprising the living room, dining room, and open bar, are characterized by luxurious material selections including marble walls, classical-style moldings on both ceiling and wall cabinets, and geometric screening elements that create a harmonious dialogue between traditional and modern design languages. The designer, Pi-Lan Hsu, has achieved remarkable spatial coherence through careful material selection and architectural detailing, particularly evident in the main bedroom's sophisticated geometrical-carved wall treatments and the second floor's private spaces, where French doors crafted from trapezoid timbers facilitate natural light penetration while maintaining privacy. The project, completed in 2014 in Taichung City, Taiwan, earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its outstanding achievement in spatial innovation and design excellence. The interior's success lies in its ability to create distinct yet cohesive environments, from the art gallery-inspired living room with its molding-segregated grey walls and abstract artwork to the warmth of wooden floors and contemporary lighting fixtures that define the family interaction spaces.
