The Sun From The East Event Image Design
The Sun From The East Event Image Design is a comprehensive visual communication project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of symbolic representation and geometric abstraction in contemporary graphic design. Created by Taiwanese designer Chia-Hui Lien, this sophisticated design system employs the circular form of the sun as its central motif, symbolizing progress, growth, and perpetual development. The design's primary visual language consists of geometric circles that undergo various compositional transformations, manifesting across multiple applications including book design, gift packaging, lunch box packaging, and poster designs. The poster component notably incorporates the number 52, representing an institutional anniversary, through a gradual transformation that mirrors the sun's trajectory, while the color palette transitions from red to purple, metaphorically representing the passage of time and evolution. The technical execution of the project demonstrates particular innovation through the strategic application of bright film and fog film printing techniques, enhancing the visual impact and creating distinctive special effects. The design system maintains consistent dimensions across various formats, with posters measuring 70x100cm, books at 21x29.7cm, and cards at 14.8x21cm. This work, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, showcases exceptional attention to geometric structural relationships and thematic coherence, while effectively communicating institutional heritage and aspirational growth through sophisticated visual metaphor.
