The Ocean Dawn Interior Design
The Ocean Dawn Interior Design is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in 2017 in Tainan City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates natural elements with contemporary living spaces across 108 square meters. Created by designers Yuan-Ting Chuang and Jui-Wen Cheng, this sophisticated interior scheme transforms a high-grade apartment into a resort-like sanctuary that harmoniously bridges the connection between indoor living spaces and the surrounding ocean landscape. The design's distinctive features include strategically placed window seats adorned with tree outlines that frame spectacular ocean views, while dark wooden beams in the living room create an artistic interpretation of dawn breaking over the horizon. The spatial composition employs a thoughtful material palette, including grey L-shaped sofas and wooden wall treatments that metaphorically express maritime tranquility. The floor carpet in the living room provides an aesthetic representation of undulating waves, while the careful selection of wood textures throughout the space evokes the tactile qualities of sea sand and coastal rocks. The design philosophy emphasizes the creation of intimate relationships between inhabitants and the natural world, achieved through the incorporation of abundant plant life and creative elements that mirror natural forms, all illuminated by comprehensive ceiling window arrangements. This innovative approach to residential design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and conceptual execution. The project stands as a testament to how interior design can effectively blur the boundaries between built environment and natural landscape, creating a harmonious living space that promotes wellbeing and environmental connectivity.
