The Idea Of Multifunctional Screen Residence
The idea of Multifunctional Screen Residence is an innovative interior design concept that revolutionizes residential space organization through a sophisticated architectural element that serves multiple purposes. This groundbreaking design, created by PoCheng Chu, YaYi Tsai, and Wendy Laio, seamlessly integrates storage functionality with spatial division in a 235-square-meter residence. The central feature is a multifunctional screen that ingeniously combines a shoe storage system with a television wall, effectively segregating different living areas while maintaining spatial harmony. The design incorporates a mirror ceiling in the porch area, enhancing the functionality of the shoe storage space and creating an engaging visual experience. This architectural innovation extends through a thoughtfully designed corridor that connects various living spaces, featuring an artistic wall painting that introduces another conceptual dimension of screening. The design's sophisticated approach to space management is particularly evident in the master bedroom configuration, where the screening mechanism creates a distinct separation between public and private areas without compromising the room's cohesive feel. The interior aesthetic is characterized by a diverse selection of furniture pieces, including leather and cloth couches, distinctive log chairs, and animal-style seating, all carefully chosen to reflect the client's hospitable and generous personality. This design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional creativity in addressing the challenges of modern living spaces, particularly in situations requiring intensive social gathering. The project's completion in December 2015 in Taichung City marked a significant advancement in residential interior design, offering a solution that balances privacy with inclusiveness through innovative spatial planning.
