The Hyatt Residence House
The Hyatt Residence House is an innovative residential interior design project spanning 360 square meters, conceived to address the evolving needs of multi-generational family living while maintaining individual privacy and independence. Completed in January 2021 in Changsha, China, this sophisticated architectural transformation, designed by Li Lang and Chen Wenhua, represents a significant advancement in contemporary residential design. The project's distinctive feature lies in its revolutionary approach to spatial organization, breaking away from traditional three-story configurations to create dynamic, interconnected layers through varied floor designs and multiple directional extensions. The design incorporates an expertly integrated elevator system, replacing the original concrete staircase, while introducing a thoughtfully positioned living room staircase to optimize circulation between the first and second floors. The residence showcases remarkable spatial innovation through split-level structuring, featuring partial high ceilings that enhance visual interest and create a harmonious flow throughout the living spaces. Notable elements include a dual-purpose first-floor balcony serving as both an indoor garden and social space, and a second-floor living area positioned above the first-floor leisure zone, facilitating seamless family interaction. The interior aesthetic masterfully blends modern, retro, and traditional elements, employing multi-colored soft fabrics and ergonomic furniture designs to ensure both comfort and visual appeal.
