The Ho Hotel is a distinguished contemporary hospitality space located in Taiwan, representing a masterful renovation of a 630-square-meter hotel lobby that harmoniously blends functionality with aesthetic excellence. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases an innovative architectural approach through its striking dome embellished with transparent linear tassels, creating a visual dialogue with the art installation at the entrance. The space is characterized by its sophisticated grayscale palette, incorporating marble, linear lighting, and curved elements to establish a streamlined, modern aesthetic. The design philosophy centers on the metaphor of a globe wrapped in horizontal and vertical lines, symbolizing international connectivity and commercial sophistication. Notable features include the strategic use of mirrors to amplify natural light, carefully planned mezzanine levels that demonstrate masterful manipulation of light and shadow, and multifunctional spaces catering to both business travelers and tourists. The renovation, completed in February 2022, transformed the previously baroque-style interior into a more contemporary and efficient environment, with particular attention paid to creating dedicated working areas for individual and group consultations. The design team, led by Hung-Yu Huang, successfully addressed multiple challenges including fire safety regulations while maintaining aesthetic integrity. The space's versatility is enhanced through the implementation of adjustable LED lighting systems, complementing the abundant natural light that floods through the high-ceilinged structure. The project demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its material selection, incorporating black mirrors, artificial stone, and laminate hard plastic sheets to achieve its sophisticated ambiance.
