The Hill Boutique Residence is an exemplary interior design project encompassing 114 square meters of thoughtfully crafted living space, situated on a scenic hillside in Taipei City, Taiwan. This sophisticated residential project, designed by Jung-Yuan Hou in collaboration with Mei-Ling Ta and Yi-Ming Pan, masterfully combines the relaxing ambiance of a boutique hotel with contemporary living requirements, particularly tailored for retirement living. The design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious integration of fashion elements and artistic expression, reflecting the client's background in the fashion industry. The spatial arrangement demonstrates exceptional efficiency through the strategic reconfiguration of the original four-room layout into three optimized spaces, featuring an enlarged master bedroom suite complete with a walk-in closet and bathroom. The interior architecture employs an innovative material palette, including custom-made metal work, titanium-tinted surfaces, and figure-shaped mosaic flooring tiles, creating a sophisticated aesthetic dialogue throughout the space. Notable design features include transparent elements that facilitate visual connectivity between different areas while maximizing natural ventilation and daylight penetration. The project, completed in July 2018, incorporates distinctive design elements such as a woven carpet wall installation and system boarding materials that serve both functional and artistic purposes. The color scheme, anchored by Hermes orange and metallic accents, creates compelling visual focal points throughout the living areas. This exceptional residential design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to residential interior design excellence.
