The Great Flowing River Residential Interior Design
The Great Flowing River Residential Interior Design is an exemplary residential interior project that masterfully integrates natural elements with contemporary design principles, situated adjacent to the Xindian River near the Shida Shopping Zone. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project, created by designers Shih-Yu Chen and Chih-Hung Chien, demonstrates a sophisticated fusion of Eastern and Western architectural elements through its innovative use of Italian Seves glass tiles and Japanese SA fair-faced concrete. The 66-square-meter space draws inspiration from Johann Sebastian Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, translating musical harmony into spatial design through a carefully orchestrated interplay of black and white elements reminiscent of piano keys. The design's most distinctive feature is its metal ceiling with ripple patterns that mirror the adjacent river's movement, creating a dynamic connection between interior and exterior environments. The space optimization showcases exceptional attention to detail, particularly in the dining-cooking section, which occupies approximately one-fifth of the total area and features a striking stainless steel bar island. The interior's light color scheme, complemented by strategic touches of black and gray, reflects the harmonic principles of its musical inspiration while maintaining visual coherence. Notable technical innovations include a steel-supported fair-faced concrete wall that doubles as an audio-visual cabinet and seating area, demonstrating the designers' commitment to multifunctional solutions. The project's sophisticated use of mirrors and natural light not only enhances spatial perception but also creates an ever-changing atmospheric quality that responds to environmental conditions, earning recognition in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award category.
