The Game Tourist Center

The Game Tourist Center is an innovative architectural project located in the Jinggang Mountains, designed to reimagine the traditional tourist facility concept by integrating multiple functions including exhibitions, tourist information services, cultural retail, dining, experiential activities, and educational programs. The three-story, 1,800-square-meter structure represents a significant advancement in sustainable architecture through its pioneering use of bamboo as the primary construction material, replacing traditional wooden brackets in its distinctive architectural framework. The design draws profound inspiration from the cultural significance of bamboo in Oriental aesthetics, particularly referencing historical narratives and local forestry resources. The building's construction process involved extensive collaboration with local craftsmen, incorporating traditional bamboo processing techniques including cutting, selection, boiling, and weaving, with several full-scale mockups created to perfect the construction methodology. The center's architectural innovation lies in its adaptation of traditional bracket complexes using bamboo, demonstrating environmental consciousness while preserving cultural craftsmanship. The facility spans three levels, with the ground floor serving as a tourist center, the second floor housing a restaurant, and the third floor dedicated to training facilities. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project, completed in 2017, represents a successful fusion of cultural preservation, sustainable architecture, and modern functionality, setting new standards in hospitality design through its innovative approach to space utilization and material application. The center's design philosophy emphasizes the preservation of traditional craftsmanship while meeting contemporary needs, creating a unique visitor experience that educates about bamboo cultivation and application while serving multiple practical functions.
