The Float Real Estate Agency

The Float Real Estate Agency

The Float Real Estate Agency is an innovative architectural project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of architecture, interior design, and landscape design, located in downtown Xiamen, China. This 5,800-square-foot real estate center demonstrates a revolutionary approach to spatial design by elevating the main sales center to the second floor, creating an illusion of floating above a meticulously designed stack-level pool. The structure's conceptual foundation draws inspiration from its purpose as a showcase for Sky Villa properties, manifesting this ethereal quality through its distinctive floating design. The building employs sophisticated steel structure construction, with the architectural and interior elements achieving seamless unity through careful technical integration. Despite challenging site conditions, including proximity to old apartments, construction sites, and a school, the design transforms these limitations into opportunities by creating its own controlled environment. The material palette includes fluorocarbon, oak staining, glass, and metallic pebble finishes, contributing to its contemporary aesthetic. Visitors experience a carefully choreographed journey, crossing an expansive pond before ascending to the main sales hall via rear stairs, creating a memorable approach sequence that enhances the floating concept. This architectural achievement, designed by Kris Lin and completed in January 2010, was honored with the Platinum A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, recognizing its exceptional contribution to architectural innovation and spatial design excellence.
