The Fifth Element Residence

The Fifth Element Residence

The Fifth Element Residence is an exemplary contemporary architectural masterpiece that embodies the harmonious integration of modern design principles with natural surroundings. Located on the periphery of an urban village, this sophisticated residential structure is composed of five parallel rectangular volumes, each featuring distinct ledge levels and heights while maintaining design consistency. The residence spans an impressive ground floor area of 840 square meters, including a 140-square-meter garage, complemented by a 355-square-meter basement, all situated within a expansive 10,000-square-meter plot. The design philosophy centers on the classical elements - earth, water, fire, and air - with the fifth element manifesting as the overall atmosphere created through their synthesis. The structure's innovative approach to privacy and environmental integration is evident in its strategic positioning, with solid stone facades providing seclusion from public views while floor-to-ceiling glass walls open to the forest, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. The residence features sophisticated climate control systems, including radiating surfaces and energy recovery systems, operating efficiently in temperatures ranging from -25 to +45 degrees Celsius. Notable features include a suspended spa block with a 20-meter indoor pool, extensive glazing that floods living spaces with natural light, and a two-story living room tower that serves as the vertical axis around which all other architectural elements are organized. This exceptional project, completed in 2020, was honored with the Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, recognizing its outstanding contribution to contemporary residential architecture.
