The Essence Of Aesthetics Residence
The Essence of Aesthetics Residence is a sophisticated residential interior design project that exemplifies contemporary luxury living through its masterful integration of materials, lighting, and spatial composition. Located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this 150-square-meter dwelling showcases an innovative departure from traditional wood-dominated interiors by embracing a refined grey and black color palette. The design's distinctive features include platinum-plated ceiling treatments and walls finished with specialized Italian artistic coating, creating intricate patterns and textural depth that responds dramatically to lighting conditions. The living room and kitchen spaces are particularly noteworthy for their use of Brazilian Grigio Fantasy Travertine Antique, a premium stone whose celestial patterns create an immersive atmospheric quality. The design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to architectural lighting through its strategic use of linear illumination systems that emphasize the vertical dimensions and minimal aesthetic of the space. The second-floor corridor has been thoughtfully conceived as a gallery space, displaying carefully curated artworks that reflect the resident's distinctive aesthetic sensibilities. The integration of French windows and glass elements replaces conventional concrete walls, establishing a fluid connection between interior and exterior environments while maximizing natural light penetration. The living room features an oiled and waxed leather sofa that develops a unique patina over time, creating an intentional contrast with the stone elements that effectively balances the space's textural composition. The project, completed in June 2019, successfully achieves a harmonious blend of functional practicality and refined luxury, where sophisticated design elements coexist seamlessly with daily living requirements.
