The Elegant Conformity Residence

The Elegant Conformity Residence

The Elegant Conformity Residence is an exemplary architectural and interior design project completed in December 2016 in Tainan City, Taiwan, distinguished by its harmonious integration of Eastern and Western design elements within a modern grey and white aesthetic framework. This 548-square-meter villa, situated adjacent to a public park in the Humei residential district, masterfully demonstrates the synthesis of artificial and natural elements through its sophisticated use of white walls featuring wood grain textures. The interior design, conceived by Yuan-Ting Chuang and Jui-Wen Cheng, showcases a remarkable balance between Zen philosophy and contemporary artistic expression, particularly evident in its public spaces across two floors. The living area features a striking stone wall representing mountainous elements, complemented by an ink painting suggesting a waterfall, while carefully selected carpeting and leather furnishings echo stone textures. The residence's sophisticated design extends to its dining and cooking areas, where modern sculptures, mirrors, and glass elements create a space rich in cultural significance. The master bedroom exemplifies the design's philosophical depth through its deliberate juxtaposition of artificial stone walls with wooden ceilings, creating a visual dialogue between opposing elements such as warm and cool, yin and yang. The property's exterior spaces, including terraces, balconies, and courtyards, have been thoughtfully designed to facilitate a seamless interaction between residents and the natural environment. This exceptional design achievement was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2017, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and cultural integration.
