The Eco Oasis Residential Interior

The Eco Oasis Residential Interior

The Eco Oasis Residential Interior is an innovative residential transformation project that exemplifies sustainable architecture and biophilic design principles, distinguished by its remarkable central light-well that serves as both a functional and aesthetic focal point. This sophisticated architectural intervention, completed in 2014 in Singapore, demonstrates exceptional spatial optimization by expanding a 1500-square-foot space into a 3000-square-foot dwelling through the strategic addition of a mezzanine level. The design's cornerstone feature is its Mediterranean-inspired central light-well, which facilitates natural illumination and ventilation while incorporating verdant elements to create an oasis-like atmosphere. The project showcases advanced sustainable technologies, including solar panel integration and passive cooling systems, significantly reducing the building's environmental footprint. The renovation's technical prowess is evident in its carefully engineered cast iron structural reinforcements, which support the new mezzanine floor while preserving the integrity of the original architecture. Notable design elements include an elegantly constructed off-white iron stairway, an extended living quarter with study area, and a connection to an open roof terrace for social gatherings. The project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design, represents a masterful balance of ecological consciousness, spatial efficiency, and aesthetic refinement, transforming a formerly dark, underutilized childcare facility into a luminous, multi-functional living space that harmoniously blends indoor and outdoor elements.
