The Combined Type LED Bamboo Lamp
The Combined Type LED Bamboo Lamp is an innovative lighting solution that exemplifies sustainable design principles through its ingenious use of composite bamboo board materials and modular construction methodology. This versatile illumination system, designed by a team led by Professor Huang Tao along with designers Shi Xiaoming and Qiu Liwei, represents a significant advancement in eco-friendly lighting design, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category. The lamp's distinguishing feature lies in its adaptable structure, allowing users to create various geometric configurations including triangular, square, and spatial arrangements, making it suitable for diverse indoor environments such as offices, study rooms, and commercial spaces. The design incorporates energy-efficient LED technology within a housing crafted from sustainable bamboo materials, combining environmental consciousness with practical functionality. Measuring 800mm x 30mm x 30mm, the lamp's modular components feature an innovative dismountable and reconstructible structure that enables transformation between pendant and wall-mounted configurations. The utilization of composite bamboo board as the primary material not only ensures cost-effectiveness and ease of transportation but also promotes environmental sustainability due to bamboo's rapid growth cycle and renewable nature. The design process involved extensive testing of mobile structures and multiple experimental prototypes to achieve optimal linking mechanisms, resulting in a product that seamlessly integrates ecological benefits with economic viability. This lighting solution, completed in December 2018, demonstrates how thoughtful material selection and innovative engineering can create a product that addresses both environmental concerns and practical lighting needs while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
