The Classical Rhyme Residence
The Classical Rhyme Residence is an exemplary 396-square-meter detached villa located in Qingpu, Taoyuan, that masterfully integrates sustainable design principles with luxurious aesthetics. Designed by Pu Ling Chan and completed in January 2019, this residential masterpiece showcases a harmonious blend of classical luxury and contemporary environmental consciousness. The interior design philosophy centers on the innovative use of eco-friendly materials, featuring zero-formaldehyde rooms, energy-efficient LED lighting systems, and sustainable wood panels throughout. The spatial composition demonstrates sophisticated planning, where the public areas are characterized by bright polished quartz floor tiles, Italian Diano marble features, and a thoughtfully curated color palette of white, gray, black, and earth tones. The residence's architectural elements include strategically placed French windows that facilitate natural ventilation and sloping roofs designed for optimal water drainage and thermal regulation. The interior layout was transformed through the removal of unnecessary partitions, employing hidden cabinets and mirrors to create implicit boundaries between functional spaces, thereby achieving an enhanced sense of openness and visual flow. Notable design features include a sophisticated wavy ceiling detail with wooden joists that elegantly conceals asymmetrical beams, complemented by indirect soft lighting that harmonizes the overall spatial ambiance. The kitchen area showcases artistic design elements with practical considerations, including elevated windows for efficient waste gas discharge, while the master bedroom combines wooden furniture with leather furnishings and decorative wallpaper, exemplifying the project's commitment to both luxury and sustainability. This exceptional residential design was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, acknowledging its outstanding achievement in sustainable luxury residential design.
