The Charm Of Orient Residence

The Charm Of Orient Residence

The Charm of Orient Residence is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully blends contemporary Asian aesthetics with modern spatial planning, completed in 2017 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. This 120-square-meter residence showcases a sophisticated interpretation of Chinese courtyard characteristics, where authentic wood grains harmoniously interplay with marble patterns to create a compelling narrative of oriental allurement. The design, conceived by Ming-Sheng Liang, demonstrates exceptional spatial organization by centering various functional areas around a central public space, fostering family intimacy while maintaining distinct zones without traditional wall partitions. The interior's distinguished features include refined ceiling treatments that merge classical oriental elements with contemporary aesthetics, while artistic elements such as carefully curated paintings and strategically placed greenery contribute to the space's invigorating atmosphere. The residence's proximity to downtown while maintaining strong connections to natural surroundings creates a unique urban sanctuary, where light and shadow interplay throughout the space like traditional ink paintings. This innovative approach to residential design earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, receiving an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and cultural integration. The project exemplifies how modern residential spaces can successfully incorporate traditional oriental design elements while maintaining contemporary functionality and comfort.
