The Banquet for Spatial Taste Interior Design is an innovative interior design project completed in 2016 in Taichung City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates culinary experience with spatial design. This sophisticated two-story restaurant interior, spanning 625 square meters, draws its conceptual foundation from the chef's extensive catering experience, translating culinary narratives into architectural elements. The design philosophy emphasizes authenticity through the deliberate use of raw materials including brick, wood, cement, black iron, and metal mesh, creating an atmosphere that resonates with primitive cooking techniques and natural flavors. The ground floor features an open-plan layout centered around a dramatic chef's bar area constructed from cement, complemented by a prominent glass showcase for displaying premium beef selections. The space is further enhanced by distinctive wall paintings and suspended lighting fixtures that metaphorically represent grilling techniques. The second floor houses private dining rooms and dedicated wine display shelves, showcasing an sophisticated interplay between wooden flooring, exposed ventilation ducts, and elaborate wooden grille ceiling installations. A particularly notable design element is the innovative application of iron materials, manifested through various net structures at different scales, from private room partitions to custom seating and decorative elements. The project, which won the Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully creates a harmonious dialogue between culinary artistry and spatial design, offering diners an immersive gastronomic experience enhanced by thoughtful architectural details and material selections.
