The Ark Of Future Private Residence
The Ark of Future Private Residence is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies contemporary living through its sophisticated interpretation of flowing space concepts, completed in 2020 in Guiyang City, China. This 188-square-meter residential space, designed by Kun Tang, masterfully integrates principles inspired by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's spatial philosophy to create a harmonious living environment that balances openness with privacy. The design's most notable achievement lies in its revolutionary approach to the Chinese kitchen, incorporating advanced smoke guide equipment and lampblack machinery to resolve traditional cooking ventilation challenges while transforming the space into a multifunctional hub that seamlessly combines dining, entertainment, and leisure activities. The residence features a public activity space exceeding 100 square meters, characterized by its visual transparency and strategic placement of four bedrooms along the periphery to maximize river and mountain views. The interior's aesthetic is defined by minimalist principles and Neoplasticism influences, utilizing pure vertical segments and golden section matrices in its composition. The material palette emphasizes natural elements including cement, wood, and stone, while sophisticated linear and reflected lighting solutions enhance the inherent qualities of these materials. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project particularly stands out for its innovative solution to the traditional Chinese kitchen challenges, creating an integrated social space that serves multiple functions while maintaining optimal functionality. The design's attention to detail extends to hidden amenities such as wine and cigar cabinets, transforming the kitchen area into a comprehensive entertainment zone that facilitates family interaction and social gatherings.
