Terroir Manor Architecture is an innovative architectural project completed in 2017 in Chiayi City, Taiwan, that exemplifies a unique approach to contemporary residential design through its distinctive principle of visual diversity among buildings. This architectural masterpiece, designed by Chieh Ming Su and Wen Chih Hsu, spans an impressive 9,858 square meters and establishes a groundbreaking rule that no two buildings within the manor should exhibit similar external appearances, except when visual consistency is paramount. The design philosophy integrates gratuitous yet rational architectural elements, featuring slant roofs, lattice windows, indoor sceneries, and balconies that collectively create a one-of-a-kind building artistry. The project addresses the challenges of urbanization and population density through thoughtful space utilization, incorporating public facilities such as Terroir-style fireplaces and chimneys with efficient ventilation systems. The manor's landscape design includes a reflecting swimming pool, extensive plantation, and carefully planned gardening features that seamlessly merge with the architecture.
