Telpher Cables
Telpher cables, also known as overhead conveyors, are a type of material handling system that utilizes a cable or chain to transport goods or materials from one location to another. This system is commonly used in manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers to move products along an assembly line or to transport materials to storage areas. The telpher cable system consists of a continuous cable that is suspended from a series of support structures, such as poles or beams, that are placed along the length of the conveyor line. The cable is driven by a motorized pulley or sprocket at one end of the line, which pulls the cable along the designated path. The goods or materials to be transported are attached to the cable using specialized carriers, which can be designed to accommodate a wide range of shapes and sizes. One of the primary advantages of telpher cables is their ability to transport goods and materials quickly and efficiently over long distances. This system is also highly flexible, as the cable can be routed around obstacles and can be configured to transport goods in a variety of directions. Additionally, telpher cables are ideal for transporting heavy or bulky items that would be difficult to move using traditional conveyor systems. Despite their many benefits, telpher cables do have some limitations. For example, they are not well-suited for transporting fragile or delicate items, as the movement of the cable can cause damage. Additionally, telpher cables require a significant amount of space and infrastructure to install, which can be a challenge in smaller facilities.
