TECHNOLOGY COLLECTION Jewelry is an innovative series of contemporary jewelry pieces that transforms functional components of personal computers into wearable art, demonstrating the hidden beauty of technological elements through fine craftsmanship. Created by Russian designer Olesya Zakharova, this collection reimagines computer parts such as processor coolers, DIN pins, SATA cables, motherboard batteries, microchips, and random access memory (RAM) as sophisticated jewelry pieces. The collection, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Jewelry Design category, employs premium materials including 925 silver with black, white rhodium, and gold coatings, complemented by specially cut Nanositals that simulate microchips. This conceptual approach to jewelry design emerged from extensive research involving the analysis of over 400 computer component images, resulting in pieces that capture the rhythmic and geometric nature of computer architecture. The collection's development, completed between April and July 2018 in Moscow, required innovative solutions to overcome the technical challenges of recreating miniature technological components in precious metals. Each piece in the collection is designed to be harmoniously worn with others, regardless of color variation or the specific computer component referenced, creating a cohesive aesthetic that bridges the gap between technology and personal adornment. The collection serves as a commentary on our daily interaction with technology, particularly the average eight hours spent daily at computers, while highlighting the unseen beauty of the digital tools that facilitate modern communication, work, and learning.
