Teawood - East Point City Cafe And Restaurant

Teawood - East Point City Cafe and Restaurant is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies contemporary dining space design through its distinctive Electric Power Cube concept, realized in Hong Kong. This Silver A' Design Award-winning establishment, designed by Vincent Chi-wai Chiang, represents a sophisticated fusion of modern aesthetics and functional dining space, spanning 2107 square feet. The design's conceptual foundation draws inspiration from the initials EPC (East Point City), transformed into an engaging Electric Power Cube theme that resonates with the young professional demographic of the area. The interior architecture features striking cubic lighting installations, particularly notable in the entrance area where two cube lights serve as visual anchors, complemented by a bold welcome sign proclaiming Get Shocked! Square in 3-Dimension Power without Limitation. The space's distinctive characteristics include ceiling-mounted cubic lighting fixtures, feature walls adorned with mechanical gear wheels, and bronze track-like elements that create visual continuity throughout the restaurant. The design successfully addresses complex challenges, including the management of natural and artificial lighting across indoor and outdoor spaces, and the creative activation of an L-shaped layout. The project, completed between August 2016 and January 2017, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, from the carefully crafted thin-line lighting cubes to the strategic placement of spotlights near curtained windows to minimize glass reflection and optimize ambient lighting conditions. The interior's dynamic and energetic atmosphere is achieved through the integration of mechanical and electrical motifs, creating an environment that particularly appeals to younger generations while maintaining sophisticated design standards.
