Teastone Qianhai Mixc Store is an innovative retail space and tea establishment located in Shenzhen's premier shopping district, exemplifying a harmonious blend of traditional Chinese tea culture with contemporary design aesthetics. The 360-square-meter interior space, designed by Min Liu and completed in 2021, showcases a remarkable architectural approach that reinterprets classical Qin and Han Dynasty architectural elements through a modern lens. The design's distinctive feature is its sophisticated implementation of mortise and tenon structural elements, where beams emerge organically from the indoor space through the facade, creating an intricate interplay of lines and volumes that results in a surreal, futuristic artistic statement. The space is characterized by its white public areas and wooden beam ceiling structure, incorporating sustainable materials such as wood-grain aluminum plates to minimize environmental impact. The centerpiece of the design is a uniquely conceived bar counter complemented by mountain-shaped ornaments and a Tea Color Earth installation wall, which together present a comprehensive narrative of Chinese tea culture and geography. This innovative retail concept, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, successfully addresses complex architectural challenges, including the integration of a cantilevered platform and the transformation of an arc-shaped curtain wall structure, while maintaining the brand's refined aesthetic sensibility and creating an immersive environment that celebrates the cultural significance of tea.
