Teastone Mixc Store is an innovative retail space design that exemplifies contemporary interpretation of traditional Chinese architectural elements, situated within a prominent shopping complex in Shenzhen. The 200-square-meter interior space, designed by Min Liu and Xin Chen, represents a significant advancement in modern tea consumption environments, masterfully blending cultural heritage with contemporary design sensibilities. The design's conceptual foundation draws inspiration from traditional Chinese architectural elements, particularly focusing on the beam structure, which has been thoughtfully deconstructed and reimagined through a modern lens. The space features two impressive 16-meter-long bars positioned beneath crossbeams, showcasing both ancient Han and Tang Dynasty methodologies alongside modern tea preparation techniques. The interior's material palette combines wood grain aluminum broad, recycled stone, texture coating, composite wood flooring, and glass, creating a harmonious and sophisticated atmosphere. The design successfully addresses the challenge of a narrow location through clever spatial organization and visual composition, while the one person, one seat concept promotes an intimate tea-drinking experience. The project, completed in September 2020, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial innovation and cultural integration. The design's success lies in its ability to create an immersive consumer experience while maintaining a delicate balance between traditional elements and contemporary functionality, establishing a new benchmark in retail space design for premium tea consumption.
