Tao Jewellery Collection is an innovative jewelry design series that masterfully reinterprets the ancient Chinese Taichi pattern, a 3000-year-old symbol representing harmony, perfection, and infinite potential. Created by Chinese designer Xiaoqian Wang, this sophisticated collection demonstrates a remarkable fusion of traditional philosophical concepts with contemporary design aesthetics. The collection, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry Design category, comprises multiple pieces including bangles, earrings, necklaces, and rings, each incorporating spatial deconstruction of the Taichi pattern to create diverse wearable structures. The pieces are crafted from brass with silver or 24k gold plating, utilizing advanced production techniques that combine 3D printing technology with traditional handicraft methods. A distinguishing feature of the collection is its innovative incorporation of movement and transformability, particularly evident in the earring design which features a 180-degree rotating mechanism allowing transformation from a circular to an elongated form. The necklace piece similarly demonstrates versatility through an adjustable chain system and convertible wearing options. The dimensional specifications of the collection range from the substantial big bangle (60mm x 53mm x 45mm) to the more delicate ring (20mm x 20mm x 20mm), each piece maintaining the collection's core aesthetic while offering unique wearing experiences. The design process involved extensive research into the philosophical principles of Taichi, utilizing sketches, paper models, and 3D digital modeling to capture the dynamic interplay of Yin and Yang energies in physical form.
