Tama Restaurant and bar is an innovative hospitality design project that exemplifies the fusion of cultural symbolism and contemporary spatial design. Located in Faridabad, India, this 700-square-meter establishment draws its conceptual foundation from the significance of copper (tama in Bengali) in human civilization, particularly its historical role in monetary transactions and its properties as an energy conductor. The interior design articulates this theme through a sophisticated deployment of copper-finished sculptural elements, figurines, and coins throughout the space, from the entry foyer to the amenities. The establishment's spatial organization demonstrates masterful planning, breaking down the expansive single-level area into intimate zones that create distinct experiential spaces while maintaining visual continuity. The design incorporates premium materials including Italian marble, titanium travertine, and silver potrero flooring, complemented by wooden battens in the main hall and private dining areas. The ceiling design features a combination of mirrors and veneer with acoustic foam, while the walls showcase Italian Oikos texture paints. The venue accommodates 220 covers and includes specialized areas such as corridor seating, balcony seating, a central performance stage with a TV wall backdrop, and private dining rooms. The project, completed in 2018, received recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for its innovative spatial design and cultural integration. The design's attention to detail extends to unique features such as gender-differentiated restrooms marked by male and female busts rather than conventional signage, and the strategic use of infinity mirrors to create an enhanced sense of space.
